Question 361372: Solve the inequality:
-8(z-6) less than or equal to -8z-7
a) z is less than or equal to -2 9/16
b) z is less then or equal to 3 7/16
c) all real numbers
d) no solutions
I answered (d) no solutions, because I got 0 is less than or equal to -55, but the correct answer was (c). I do not understand why. Please help. Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the inequality:
-8(z-6) less than or equal to -8z-7
-------------
-8z+48 <= -8z-7
----
Add 8z to both sides to get:
48 <= -7
----
This is a contradiction.
There are no solutions for the original equation
because z on the left cannot equal the z on the
right.
