Question 360821: I need help with a problem please, I need to find the shaded area of a square with a circle in it, the square is 15 ft by 15 ft and the shaded areas are the four corners that the circle does not cover, there is no radius given for the circle, I know I am sort of brain dead today and that there is a way to figure this out but it is not coming to me, please help.

So for this one, we need to find the area of the circle and subtract it from the area of the area of the square. First:
The area of a circle is (pi) times the radius squared. So: since the length of the square is 15, the radius of the circle is 7.5. The square of 7.5 is 56.25, that times (pi) which is 3.14 = 176.625. the area of the square is 15x15=225. Therefore:
225-176.625= 48.375
