*Note: Raju was and always will be 19 year younger than his cousin

Let x represent his cousin's age, then Raju's age is (x-19)

write as we read (in 5 years...)***

2%2F3+=+%28x-19%29%2Fx

cross multiply to solve

2x = 3(x-19)

solve for x (cousin's age in 5 years)

2x = 3x - 57

57 =x (cousin's age in 5 years)



cousin is now 52 and Raju is 33 (52-19)



checking our answer

38/57 = 2/3
