a%28m-2%29-5%28m-2%29 factor out a from the first part and 5 from the second part

%28a-5%29%28m-2%29 combine a and -5 since they have a common multiple of (m-2)

If you use the FOIL method to multiply the two factors out, it will be same as the given polynomial!
