You can put this solution on YOUR website! you end up with a triangle with sides of 1.5 and 2
calculate the hypotenuse.
1.5^2+2^2=c^2
2.25+4=6.25
sq rt 6.25=2.5 mi
This is a version of the 3,4,5 triangle so it could almost be answered in your head.
