Question 359873: Would you help me with the following problem? It is:
Graph the equation using slope and y intercept.
Y- 1/5x + 5
the slope is 1/5 and the y intercept is (0,5). I know how to graph the y intercept. How would I graph the slope of 1/5?
Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Would you help me with the following problem? It is:
Graph the equation using slope and y intercept.
Y- 1/5x + 5
the slope is 1/5 and the y intercept is (0,5). I know how to graph the y intercept. How would I graph the slope of 1/5?
--------
So, you plotted the point (0,5).
Now, since the slope is 1/5, that means "as x increases by 5,
y increases by 1".
----
So, put your pencil point at (0,5).
Then move your pencil point 5 to the right, then 1 up
to the point (5,6).
Plot a point at (5,6) then draw a line thru (0,5) and (5,6).

Cheers,
Stan H.
