Question 359619: Hello,
I am stumped and any help would be much appreciated...Thanks!
14+5x-x^2
My strategy to factor this, was to re-write the expression to; -x^2+5x+14 and then to factor out a negative 0ne, producing the expression; x^2-5x-14
I then arrived that the solution: -1(x+2)(x-7)
The book does not re-write the expression, but solves it right to left and arrives at the solution; (7-x)(2+x)
I don't understand why they didn't re-write the expression, nor exactly how they came up with this solution. Again...any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's the same answer.
-%28x-7%29=%287-x%29
You could do it that way too but we all get used to doing things a certain way.
Both ways work... it's just a matter of choice.
