Question 358412: In a family of five, members speak English, Spanish, or both. Two people speak
Spanish, and four English. How many people speak both languages?
Answer by Jk22(389) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Since English plus Spanish speaker sum to 6, 1 speak both languages : 6-5=1
Other way :
Let English speaker only be e, Spanish only s, and speaking both language es :
e+s+es=5 and e+s+2*es=6, hence by substracting : es=6-5=1
