Question 357039: I need to solve for y in this equation. can you show me the steps how to do this? (y+1)/3=x+2 Thanks for your help. Answer by nerdybill(7384) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (y+1)/3=x+2
Multiply both sides by 3:
y+1 = 3(x+2)
Subtract 1 from both sides:
y = 3(x+2) - 1
y = 3x+6 - 1
y = 3x+5
