You can put this solution on YOUR website! let the earring she has to sell be x
$ 36 fixed costs
$1.50 manufacturing cost
her earnings = 6x
to breakeven
36+1.5x=6x
36=6x-1.5x
36=4.5x
36/4.5 =x
x= 8 pairs of rings to breakeven

Total cost = 36+1.5x to produce "x" earrings.

Revenue = 6x for selling "x" earrings.
-------
Equation to determine the break even # of earrings.
36+1.5x = 6x
4.5x = 36
x = 8 earrings.
