let t = # hours the two cars are in motion.
Then by the formula D = RT, 45t+-+30t+=+150.
15t+=+150,
t+=+10.
Therefore the two cars will be 150 miles apart after 10 hours.

Speed of B = 45 mph
...
B will get ahead by 45-30 = 15 miles every hour.
Time = distance/speed
