Question 356485: At Linear High School, there are n lockers all located along a very long hall numbered consecutively from 1 to n . One day, n students, who have been likewise numbered from 1 to n did this:
Student 1 opened all lockers
Student 2 closed every second locker
Student 3 changed the position of every third locker starting with the third locker (the student opened any locker that was closed and closed any locker open)
student 4 changed the position of lcokers 4,8,12.....
This process continues until each person had walked the length pf corridor. Of course, the last student, student n strolled to the end of the corridor where they changed the position of locker n.
Which lockers were open and which were closed at the end.
( I know it has to do with factors of a number, I tried a general formula nx+n but did not give me enough info)
