Question 35593: Three man check into a room the cost $30 each paying $10. Later they are told by the bellboy that there was a mistake and that the room was actually only to cost $25, so $5 was retunrned to the men. Each of the men took a dollar and the remaining $2 was given to the bellboy. Therefore, each man spent $9 of a total $27, and they gave $2 to the bellboy for a grand total of $29 paid. What happened to the other $1?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is a classic math question!! There IS no dollar missing!! Each man paid $9 for the room, plus $2 for the bellboy, for a total of $29 paid just as it was supposed to be. That was not supposed to add up to $30. If you want to know what happened to the $30, they paid a total of $25 for the room, plus $2 to the bellboy, plus $3 returned to them in change, which is $30. It all checks, as math problems ALWAYS do.
