You can put this solution on YOUR website! let x be the numerator
y the denominator
x+2/y+2 =5/7
7(x+2)=5(y+2)
7x+14=5y+10
7x-5y=-4.....................1
..
x/y-1 = 3/4
4x=3(y-1)
4x=3y-3
4x-3y=-3.....................2
..
multiply equation1 by -4 and equation 2 by 7 and add them to eliminate x
-28x+20y=16
28x-21y=-21
-y=-5
y=5
..
plug value of y in equation 1
7x-25=-4
7x=21
/7
x=3
so the fraction is 3/5
