If what you're asking is about the distribution of the sample means coming from some population that is symmetrical or otherwise, then the Central Limit Theorem says that as the sample size increases, the distribution approaches a normal distribution whose mean is the same as that of the underlying population, with a standard deviation equal to the standard deviation of the underlying distribution divided by the square root of the sample size.
