Actually, there's nothing to solve, it can only be simplified.
Use the asterisk for multiply, x is often a variable.
= 4*{[200-10)-[35/7)*(5)-12]}
= 4*(190 - 5*5 - 12)
= 4*(178 - 25)
= 4*(153)
= 612

if this is what it looks like in the book i can see why ur having trouble theres alot of open ended parenthasies and at the end is it 4%2A3 or 4x%2A3 or 4x%5E3
