functions are very straight forward. In the main, it is a more "professional" way of writing y= all the time.

f(x) = 6%5Ex means exactly the same as y=6%5Ex.

f(-2) means x is -2, so put that value in the equation, to give f(-2) = 6%5E%28-2%29.

You can work this out on your calculator to give a long decimal, that you have no idea what it means or where it came from, or you can do the manipulation by hand: it isn't difficult and it keeps the answer in a form you understand, so here goes:

6%5E%28-2%29 means 1%2F6%5E2 which is 1%2F36. That is it!

f(x)=6^x
f(-2)=6^(-2)=1/(6^2)=1/36(answer)
