Together rate = 1/x job/hr

Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/7 + 1/8 = 1/x

8x + 7x = 56
15x = 56
x = 56/15 = 3 11/15 hrs = 3 hrs (11/15)(60 min) = 3 hrs 44 minutes
