Hi,
The total cost of a jacket and a pair of shoes was $51.22. if the jacket was $2.57 less than the shoes, what was the price of the jacket?
.
Let x be the price of the shoes. then (x - 2.57)would be the price of the jacket
x + (x-2.57) = 51.22
2x = 53.79
x = 26.90
.
Price of the jacket is (x-2.57) or $24.32
