*NOte: consider let x be the width of the walkway. Then the dimensions of the rectangle formed by the pool and the walkway are (20 + 2x) and (60 + 2x)

Area of rectangle formed by the pool and the walkway
1200 m^2 + 516 m^2 = 1716m^2
.
(20 + 2x)(60 + 2x) = 1716m^2
1200 + 160x + 4x^2 = 1716m^2
x^2 + 40x - 129 = 0
(x + 43)(x-3) = 0
