Question 353311: Question:
The area of the kitchen is 900 square feet. Write and solve the equation to find the (x) values.

What I THINK I should do:
I think your suppose to find the square root of 900 first.
Which is 30.
Then I THINK your suppose to divide that by 2.
I'm not sure if I have this part right, and I'm stuck.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The area of a rectangle is the length times the width. So the length of your kitchen times the width of your kitchen must be 900. Now if your kitchen happens to be a perfect square, you just take the square root and you are done. But if it is just a general rectangle, you need more information than you have given to determine the measurements. I'm not sure where you got the idea that you needed to divide by 2.
