Let w be the width, then (w+ 8) is the length
.
w*(w + 8) = 180ft^2
.
w^2 + 8w - 180ft^2 = 0
.
factor
(w - 10)(w + 18) = 0
.
(w + 18) = 0
w = -18 (have no use this negative solution)
.
(w - 10) = 0
w = 10Ft
.
Length is (x+8)
Length is 18ft
.
