Question 352495: Hello, did I find the x and y intercepts of the equation properly?
x%5E2+%2A+y+=+x%5E2+-+4y+-+2
x=0
0%5E2+%2A+y+=+0%5E2+-+4y+-+2
%28-1%2F2%29+=+y
y intercept: (0,-1%2F2)
y=0
x%5E2+%280%29+=+x%5E2+-+4%280%29+-+2
x+=+sqrt%282%29
x intercept: (sqrt%282%29, 0)
If I did this correctly, do I leave the sqrt%282%29 in the x intercept coordinates or do I convert this to decimal form, 1.41?
Thanks and have a great night!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You're doing great, but you forgot about the "plus/minus" involved when taking the square root. So the solutions of the second equation should be x=sqrt%282%29 or x=-sqrt%282%29

This means that the x-intercepts are and
