Question 352003: Could someone Please help, I need a sketch of this problem. Showing the comparison distribution, cutoff(or cutoffs) and score of the sample on this distribution. Thank you
hull hypothesis H): μ≤35, H1: alternative hypothesis H1: μ>35
significant level is 0.01
z-score is (58-35)/10 = 2.3
p-value is 0.0107

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I need a sketch of this problem. Showing the comparison distribution, cutoff(or cutoffs) and score of the sample on this distribution. Thank you
-------------------------
Null hypothesis Ho: μ≤35,
H1: alternative hypothesis H1: μ>35
------
significant level is 0.01
z-score is (58-35)/10 = 2.3
This implies the mean of the sample is 58 and the standard deviation is 10
--------
p-value is 0.0107
This implies the P(z > 2.3) = 0.0107
----
Since the p-value is greater than 1%, you would fail to reject Ho.
Since the p-value is so close to 1%, you would test more or change
the level of significance on the test.

Stan H.
