The cross section area of canal is a trapezium.
Parallel sides are 2 and 4, height is 2 m.

area of this trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × (distance between them)

= 1/2 * (2+4) * 2

= 6 m sq.
volume = 6 * 10000 (10 km = 10000 m)
= 60000 m cube.


so, 60000 cubic meters excavated.
