Note: the sum of supplementary angles is 180
Let x be the larger. (x-40) the other angle.
.
x + (x-40) = 180
.
2x - 40 = 180
.
2x = 220
x = 110 is the obtuse angle
Definition of an obtuse angle. An angle between (but not including) 90deg and 180 deg
.
