You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Don't know where to start?
Move all y terms on one side, all other terms on the other.
Don't let the inequality sign throw you off.
Proceed like it is an "=" sign.
If the decimals are a concern, multiply both sides by 10.
1-.1y%3E.2
10-y%3E2
-y%3E2-10
-y%3E-8
highlight%28y%3C8%29 <-- One of the differences with inequalities, change sign direction when multiplying or dividing by a negative number, like in this case (-1).
.
.
.
Now verify the solution.
Choose y%3C8 and make sure it satisfies the equation and choose y%3E8 and make sure it doesn't satisfy the equation.
