Question 347394: I'm supposed to write the algebraic expression in words. I'm not sure how to get this one done. It is : 28-w/3
I was trying: 28 kids want 3 pieces of pizza, how many pizza's (w) are needed?
and: 28 kids want w pieces of pizza, are 3 enough?
Those don't seem to work!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How about this: If we let w = number of slices of pizza that Walter wants, then 28-w is the number of slices left over. Now if you have 3 people vying for those leftovers, then they will each get %2828-w%29%2F3 slices of pizza.

Ex: If Walter wants one slice, then w=1 and the three get %2828-1%29%2F3=27%2F3=9 slices of pizza each.
