and: 28 kids want w pieces of pizza, are 3 enough?
Those don't seem to work!
My mom's not sure how to turn this itno a word problem either! Please help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! How about this: If we let w = number of slices of pizza that Walter wants, then 28-w is the number of slices left over. Now if you have 3 people vying for those leftovers, then they will each get slices of pizza.
Ex: If Walter wants one slice, then w=1 and the three get slices of pizza each.
