You can put this solution on YOUR website! the measure of a supplementary angle is 5 times that of the angle's complement.
what is the measure of the complementary angle?
:
Let a = the angle
then
(180-a) = it's supplement
and
(90-a) = it's complement
:
The equation for the statement:
"the measure of a supplementary angle is 5 times that of the angle's complement."
180 - a = 5(90 - a)
180 - a = 450 - 5a
-a + 5a = 450 - 180
4a = 270
a =
a = 67.5 degrees
but it says," what is the measure of the complementary angle? "
90 - 67.5 = 22.5 degrees is the complementary angle
