Question 345446: I would like help with this question.
If the larger of two consecutive integers is subtracted from twice the smaller integer, then the result is 21. Find the integer.
My book does not give me an example of how to solve this. It shows me how to find even numbers...
Thank You

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let N and N%2B1 be the consecutive integers.
N%2B1 is the larger.
N is the smaller.
2N-%28N%2B1%29=21
2N-N-1=21
N-1=21
highlight%28N=22%29 and highlight%28N%2B1=23%29
Verifying,
2%2822%29-23=44-23=21
