Question 344541: Suppose you were not given the expressions for Angle A and Angle B. Suppose, instead, that both angles are unknown and the only fact you know if that they are supplementary. What expressions would you write for each angle?
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x = the measure of angle A in degrees. For the measure of angle B we want an expression that will be supplementary with the measure of angle A. In other words we want the expression for the measure of angle A and the expression for the measure of angle B to add up to 180 degrees.
The expression for angle B needs to be something which when added to x makes 180. This expression is: 180-x.
Add x and 180-x and see if you get 180! We don't know x nor do we know 180-x. But we do know that they are supplementary!
