Question 344013: two cars are traveling in the same direction on a road. the car that leads is traveling at 46 miles per hour. the other car is traveling at 70 miles per hour how many miles apart will they be 30 minutes before the faster car catches the slower car?
Please answer my pre algebra ? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
The difference in speed is 24 miles per hour. Since the faster car is going to catch up in 30 minutes or 1/2 hour, the faster car must be 1/2 times 24 miles or 12 miles behind.
