given:

Multiply both sides by 5%2A%282400+-+x%29%7D%7D%0D%0A%7B%7B%7B5x+=+3%2A%282400+-+x%29
5x+=+7200+-+3x
8x+=+7200
x+=+900
2400+-+x+=+2400+-+900
2400+-+900+=+1500
The books have 900 pages and 1500 pages
