Question 342417: SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!
1. determine the equation of any vertical asymptotes of the graph of:
2x+3
f(x)= -----------
x^2+2x-3
A. x=-1
B. x=3
C. x=-3,x=1
D. y=2
2. Determine the values of x for any holes in the graph of:
x+3
f(x)= ----------
x^2+5x+6
A. x=-3
B. x=3
C. x=-2, x=-3
D. x=-2
Problem 1. Set the denominator equal to zero and solve. For any value in the solution set, is the equation of a vertical asymptote so long as is NOT a factor of the numerator.
Problem 2. Find any binomial factors that are common to both numerator and denominator of your rational function. Set each of such factors equal to zero and solve. The solution(s) will represent the coordinates of holes in the function.
