Problem 1. Set the denominator equal to zero and solve. For any value in the solution set, is the equation of a vertical asymptote so long as is NOT a factor of the numerator.

Problem 2. Find any binomial factors that are common to both numerator and denominator of your rational function. Set each of such factors equal to zero and solve. The solution(s) will represent the coordinates of holes in the function.
