Question 341952: Please help me solve this word problem:
How many pounds of coffee worth 50 cents must be mixed with 15 pounds of coffee worth 80 cents per pound to form a blend that will sell for 60 cents per pound?
I started to set up the problem in a chart format, but then can't remember how to set up the equation. If I can see the equation, I usually can solve it on my own.
$/lb lbs
coffee #1 50 cents x
coffee #2 80 cents 15
coffee #3 60 cents ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
