SOLUTION: angle 1 and angle 2 are supplementary. If angle 1 = 2x^2-3 and angle 2 = 8x-9, find x, and 1, and angle 2.
I need to understand how i can do this with the square root sign?

Question 341748: angle 1 and angle 2 are supplementary. If angle 1 = 2x^2-3 and angle 2 = 8x-9, find x, and 1, and angle 2.
I need to understand how i can do this with the square root sign?
my work so far:
2x^2-3+8x-9=180
2x^2-12+8x=180
2x^2+8x=192
2x^2=24
------now from here i do not know what to do... help please? Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! angle 1 and angle 2 are supplementary. If angle 1 = 2x^2-3 and angle 2 = 8x-9, find x, and 1, and angle 2.
I need to understand how i can do this with the square root sign?
my work so far:
2x^2-3+8x-9=180
2x^2-12+8x=180
2x^2+8x=192 ****** This is good, but next step is not right.
***** 2x^2=24
--------------
(x+12)*(x-8) = 0
x = 8, x = -12
Sub into the expressions to find the angles.
