Question 341694: Please help I am completley lost:(
A study of motor vehicle rates in the 50 states reveals
that traffic death rates (deaths per 100 million motor
vehicle miles driven) can be modeled by the normal
curve. The data suggest that the distribution has a mean
of 5.3 and a standard deviation of 1.3. Sketch the normal
curve, showing the mean and standard deviation.
Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use a graphing calculator to get the following normal distribution

Note: Let me know your calculator model so I can help you find the commands necessary to get this distribution.

The blue dot is the mean mu=5.3. This point is at the center of the distribution.

----------

The left green dot is one standard deviation below the mean and it's value is: mu-sigma=5.3-1.3=4.0

The right green dot is one standard deviation above the mean and it's value is: mu%2Bsigma=5.3%2B1.3=6.6

----------

The left pink dot is two standard deviations below the mean and it's value is: mu-2sigma=5.3-2%2A1.3=2.7

The left pink dot is two standard deviations above the mean and it's value is: mu%2B2sigma=5.3%2B2%2A1.3=7.9
