The first cyclist, going 6 mph, will travel 18 miles during the 3 hour head start. Once the second cyclist gets going at 10 mph, 6 of those mph will be used just to keep up with the first guy, and the remaining 4 mph will be used to catch up. The question becomes: How long does it take to travel 18 miles at 4 miles per hour?
