You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We have two equations:

2x=2-y

3x+y=-1

add y to both side of the first equation to get:

2x + y = 2 and

3x + y = -1

subtract the first equation from the second to get:

3x+%2B+y+-+%282x+%2B+y%29+=+-1+-+2

this reduces to x = -3. Substitute x into the first equation to get -6+=+2+-+y

subtract 2 from either side and multiply through by -1 to get y+=+8
