I think you mean 8%5E%281%2F3%29+=+2
Remember the log is the exponent, it's too bad the name doesn't make that clear.
1/3 is the exponent, so the log of something will be 1/3
8 is raised to a power, so 8 is the base.
log%288%2C2%29+=+1%2F3

The log (exponent) of 2, base 8, is 1/3.
