3b=2%2B5b-12 Subtract 12 from both sides.


3b-5b=2-12 Subtract 5b from both sides.


-2b=2-12 Combine like terms on the left side.


-2b=-10 Combine like terms on the right side.


b=%28-10%29%2F%28-2%29 Divide both sides by -2 to isolate b.


b=5 Reduce.
