Question 338293: Protozoa are single-celled organisms. Paramecium Aurelia is one type of protozoan. The number of Paramecium Aurelia protozoa doubles every 1.25 days. There was one protozoan on a slide 5 days ago. How many protozoa are on the slide now? How do you write the expression and what is the answer? Thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5 days is 4 doubling periods (5/1.25)

for one protozoan doubling 4 times ___ 1 ___ 2 ___ 4 ___ 8 ___ 16

the expression is ___ N = I [2^(t/d)]
___ N is the current number
___ I is the initial number
___ t is the elapsed time
___ d is the doubling time

N = 1 [2^(5/1.25)] = 16
