Conundrum?
There is a formula, you know.
It was worked out hundreds of years ago, just use it.
Use the point-slope form of a line and convert it to slope-intercept form,
y-yp=m%28x-xp%29
y-%28-2%29%29=%283%2F7%29%28x-%28-1%29%29
y%2B2=%283%2F7%29%28x%2B1%29
Now convert it to slope-intercept form to complete the problem.

The line through (-1,-2) with slope 3/7. Write the equation for this line. Give the answer in slope-intercept form.
------------
Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx + b
---
You know y = -2 when x = -1.
And you know m = 3/7
---
Substitute and solve for "b":
-2 = (3/7)(-1) + b
b = -2+(3/7)
b = (-14/7)+(2/7)
b = -12/7
=============================
Equation:
y = (3/7)x -(12/7)
