Question 337073: if two planes leave an airport at the same time with one flying west at 680 mph and the other flying east at 560 mph, how long will it take them to be 6200 miles apart?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
They are separating at a speed equal to the sum of their speeds, or
680+560 mph or 1240 mph. Since time = distance divided by rate, we
have 6200%2F1240 or 5 hours.
