Question 336487: This is in algebra 2. Here is the word problem:
Lisa can shovel snow from her driveway in 35 minutes. Bill can do the same job in 55 minutes. How long would it take Lisa and Bill to shovel the driveway if they worked together?
The answer has to be in minutes and it says to simplify it. So, it needs a mixed number for the answer. I know that I start by doing this: 1/35 + 1/55 (I think), but then I am lost. Could you please show me the steps so that I know how to do a problem like this in the future. Thank you for your help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
t(1/35+1/55)=1

t(11/385+7/385)=1

t(18/385)=1

t=1/(18/385)

t=385/18

t=21.3888889 <------------ Answer
