You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given points A (k, 5) and B (6,8), find k so that the slope of line AB is 2/3. How do I solve this?

You plug in the slope formula just like you would if there were
a number there instead of the letter k:

m%22%22=%22%22%28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%2F%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29

m%22%22=%22%22%288-5%29%2F%286-k%29

m%22%22=%22%223%2F%286-k%29

You are told that the slope is 2%2F3 so also substitute
that for the slope m:

2%2F3%22%22=%22%223%2F%286-k%29

Do you know how to solve that for k? If not post again asking how.

You will get:

k%22%22=%22%223%2F2
