Question 333075: I feel like a complete idiot on this one. I believe it may be just as simple as it appears, but I'm afraid I'm missing something.... Anywhoo, here's the question:
Tuition at a certain college recently increased from $9000 to $10,000. Find the ratio of the increase in price to the original price in simplest form.
And this is my response (as close to 'showing my work' as possible):
9,000:10,000
9:10
Is it just that simple or is there a much larger expectation here?
Thank you so much for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the ratio of the increase in price to the original price in simplest form.
The increase in price is 10000+-+90000+=+1000
The original price is 9000
1000%2F9000+=+1%2F9
That is my reading of it, anyway
