Question 333047: (2c + 3d)(7c - 2d)
How is this solved? I am a returning college student x20 years since I last went to college and I have forgot everything to do with math. I know this is probably so simple - I just need to remember the steps. could you refresh me on this one?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can't really "solve" it because you don't have the expression equal to anything. You can, however, expand the expression using FOIL (first, outer, inner, last).
.
See this site for details:

.
(2c + 3d)(7c - 2d)
(2c)(7c) + (2c)(-2d) + (3d)(7c) + (3d)(-2d)
(14c^2) + (-4cd) + (21cd) + (-6d^2)
14c^2 - 4cd + 21cd - 6d^2
14c^2 + 17cd - 6d^2
14c^2 - 6d^2 + 17cd
