The car leaving Toledo averages 15 mph faster than the other, and they meet after 1 hour and 36 minutes. What are the rates of the car?
Note: I need two equations. So far I have y+15=x, x=rate of car leaving Toledo and y being the rate of the car leaving Cincinnati. Answer by rfer(16322) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (x+x+15)(1.6)=200
(2x+15)(1.6)=200
3.2x+24=200
3.2x=176
x=55 mph
x+15=70 mph
I don't know why you need two equations?
