You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A fraction a/b, a b integers, is integer if a is an integer multiple of b.
Else it's rational,
-
however, a fraction cannot be irrational. For example there are not fraction m/n=sqrt(2).
-
There remain 2 common classes of number :
-
A number w is algebraic if it's solution of a polynomial equation (sqrt(2) is algebraic)
-
else it's transcendental. (for example Pi is transcendental but not algebraic).
